Flexible Spending Accounts
With a Flexible Spending Account plan, employees make benefit
decisions utilizing health flexible spending (FSA) accounts. There
are two choices:
Out-of-pocket medical expenses. Employees calculate their qualified
medical out-of-pocket expenses for the coming year. This amount
is then deducted on a pre-tax basis from their gross pay.
As they incur qualified expenses, employees submit reimbursement
requests and FlexChecks sends them a check.
Dependent Care expenses. Employees calculate their qualified
dependent care expenses for the coming year. This amount is then
deducted on a pre-tax basis from their gross pay.
