Working as an accountant and outsourcing payroll, Diane Pelak was frustrated with the lack of service and attention to detail she received from the national processors. She saw the need for a superior, quality-based payroll processor. So, with just one employee and a handful of clients, she incorporated our company as Datasphere, Inc. in 1997.

As time went on, many of our clients referred us to their customers and vendors and we grew to process payrolls throughout the Grand Rapids, Michigan area for small to mid-sized companies.

In 1999, we began administering flexible benefit plans to better serve our clients. Our flex service includes everything from creating the Plan Documents, on-site employee education, Form 5500 filing, and full administration for flexible spending accounts with 24-hour reimbursements and debit cards. We have found that Flex Plan administration and payroll processing are a perfect match!

In 2000, we officially changed our name to FlexChecks! We continue to serve clients with as few as one employee up to companies with over 1000 employees. By 2005, we were serving both payroll and flex clients throughout United States.

In 2006, FlexChecks purchased the client base of CBS Payroll Solutions in Okemos, Michigan and converted over 150 clients to the FlexChecks platform. In 2007 we added additional value-added services of SwipeClock Web-Based Time and Attendance, Pay-As-You-Go Workers Compensation and Online 401K.
